you just GOTTA love a woman who has no problem handling bugs!!LOL wish i was closer, i would take them
I have 6 hornworm cocoons that I would love to keep, but since I have to live with my parents, they will not let me keep them and try to breed them Anyone near Chicago want some hornworm cocoons? Also, they started moving a little when I was holding them. Is that normal?

Wiggling Cocoons means they are in good health. I have 20 of them I just put outside because I can't be bothered to raise them again right now.. I still have them in a container, not sure what to do with them, lol. I've wondered if it'd be OK to feed the cocoons to my frogs.. I really don't see why it wouldn't be. I actually kind of feel bad because they are going to waste..
So if I can't find anyone to take them do I just put them outside? I feel bad putting them out in the cold, but they must be able to survive somehow...
Think of it this way.. putting them outside is a better chance of surviving than throwing them away, haha. These things turn into cocoons to make it through winter, but they bury themselves in the ground. I don't know how deep. Mine are actually outside in their box with eco dirt. I honestly don't think they'll make it through winter because they've been warm up to this point, but I'd feel better giving them a shot outside than just throwing them away or something. I might go bury them in a big pile of leaves I have next to the woods, since I don't think I'll be using them otherwise.
Ok thank you!!! Hopefully someone will take them
no one wants my cocoons?

i want them, but i bet there's no way for me to get em as usual
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Yeah I wouldn't know how to get them to you. I don't know if it would be legal? Do I need a license to ship live stuff over the border? they are free to a good home you would just have to pay shipping cuz I'm poor
Still trying to get rid of these eh? You could always fry 'em up in some butter and have yourself a snack.
I was going to, had the pan heated and ready to go, but then darn it all, wouldn't you know I was out of butter! I will probably end up putting them outside and hope they survive the cold
