    Eco earth is very safe. You could also keep it on paper towels for the first couple weeks. Or transfer the little guy to a small container with paper towel for feeding. Eco earth has no impaction risk so I have never worried about it tho. Mine has been on eco earth since she was the size of a quarter.

    You can also tong feed to reduce the amount t of eco earth accidently ingested

    You've been given good advice here. All I have to add is that you should search through the soil thoroughly so you can pick out any debris that may be in the substrate that could cause a potential impaction.
