Hi, I've had my dumpy tree frog for about two weeks now, and I've never had any problems with him until tonight. Every night before I go to bed, I check on him to make sure he is okay and his color is good and everything. Well, when I spun the cage around and finally spotted him, I said to my friend "wow, he is looking a bit puffy tonight." My frog is only about an inch and a half long, and he has never looked as big as he did then. All of a sudden, he started moving like he was stretching, and when he moved his back legs, it looked like there was slime sticking between his body and leg, then he started opening his mouth like he was going to vomit or something, and he also sucked in his stomach so much that I could see his ribs. He stopped, but I have no idea what happened, can someone please help me?
It is or was shedding its skin. No biggie.
I agree with Kurt. Sounds like he was shedding. Mine do it every night when the lights go out.
I thought the same thing until I saw some videos on youtube about shedding. He is one that might make you feel better.
