This may be a stupid question! I have been told that cat saliva is deadly to frogs is this true??
I believe cat saliva is host to a few types of bacteria, so that might be a problem for a frog but I have no idea how severe it could be or if it's even a problem. Probably a bigger issue is that cat saliva is often delivered along with cat fang shaped puncture wounds, which few frogs are likely to enjoy.
I've never heard of cat saliva being deadly to anything, but like Brian said it's the bite that is usually involved tbat is most likely the part that is deadly.
Why, did you have a mix up between a cat and a frog? If so, are both okay? Cat saliva causes allergies in people from what I've heard or read. I always thought it was fur but the saliva dries on their fur then people with allergies come in contact and end up with red itchy skin and eyes. I know some who end up wheezing. I used to be one of them but I no longer have that degree of difficulty. Hey, that's what claritin is for.....but if I wash my hands well after petting a cat I seem to be alright.
