I know people in the planted tank world who have used this filter and had no luck with them. Leaking o-rings, cheap, easily broken plastic, lack of availability of parts. For a few bucks more, you can get an eheim classic that will have much better quality and longevity.

Now, odyssea light? I absolutely love!!

Well Bill, I already bought it, and will give you the rundown, 58 bucks won't break the bank... I know about the O ring thing, but I also have friends using this who like it with no problems... I trust you as you are the inspiration for my build, and its easy enough to change out an outside filter.. Now if it was burried under all the drainage, now that would be a problem.. I also bought the Led lights from them as well as per your link in the Madagascar thread... 6500k lumen 36". The other Leds I looked at were well into the 3-4 hundred range.. This was 79 bucks, really can't go wrong with that...

Please let me know how it works for you. I hope you have better luck than others I know.

The price on the led lights they have can't be beat. There are some much better lights coming out very soon. A friend of mine is helping to develop a new led lighting system for planted tanks with a more complete lighting spectrum for plants that I hope to upgrade to when they become available sometime this year.

Sorry, forgot about this. They are shooting for a mid ranged price. I have to see if I can find the link to the YouTube video on it.

Thanks Bill, you are really the best... Would love to see the link... I can't wait to see your build, as I too am in the midst of a build and I am enjoying it very much..
