    Unhappy Small Question

This is my first time having frog, well no I have always had African Dwarf frogs but this is my first time having Fire Belly Toads. They have a pretty cool home with plenty of plants and a great place to swim but they wont leave the floating log. Is something wrong? Do I have too much water? Are they not big swimmers?

They eat every day, I make sure the water is clean and the temp is good. Can anyone help me with this???

    Hi ashleymonae1,
    Welcome to Frog Forum.
I have no experience with fire belly toads.
    Their enclosure sounds great !
Have no fear ! There are lots of members that can help you.

I am suggesting you post this question in this section:
    http://www.frogforum.net/fire-belly-toads-bombina/
Post some photos there as well, if possible We love photos !!!
Provide detailed information about the water: depth, filtered ? , temp, and type of water you are using.
"They" will all chime it to help you!

There is also a care sheet/sticky in this section- written by FF founder John Clare !
Enjoy FF company- again Welcome !!!!!

    Default Small Question

    Welcome .

They love water and love to rest on things in the water. They are likely loving their log . They favor a part land, part water home. Be sure the water is only a couple inches deep with things to rest on in the water, which sounds like you've done a great job of. They will eat on land. Be sure to only use gravel under the water, not in the area they will eat to avoid accidental ingestion of the rocks. Larger rocks that they can't fit into their mouths are fine. Avoid loose moss for the same reason. They are excellent climbers . Be sure they have a well secured lid. They like to have a friend or 2. They tend to change color a bit to blend into their surroundings, though there are different breeds of greens and browns. If you like green, add some nice plants...brown, try a brown background or flooring . Both? A nicely mixed home will be perfect.

If you can answer flybyferns questions I can help more. The care sheet she linked is very helpful.

Congrats on your new firebellies! they are quite entertaining.
