I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on what species this adorable little frog is! This picture was posted on Facebook, but the poster didn't know what species they were. I'm absolutely in love! I'd love to know what they are and if they are ever available as pets.

look like some type of "rain frog" but im not sure they sure are cute though
They're a type of Narrow Mouthed Frog. Members of what's called chubby frogs. I'm not sure of the species though.
EDIT; I take that back. They ARE Rain Frogs Lol! As the member above stated. I'm looking for the species now.
First one looks like Breviceps adspersus and the second is Breviceps branchi.
Oh my gosh, thank you guys so much! That does indeed appear to be what they are!!
Of course, I'm set to head off to work here shortly, so I'll have to look further into them later on now that I have a name!
Does anyone actually keep them as pets?
Dear god those are adorable!!!!
Super cute![]()

In the wild these guys spend the majority of their lives underground waiting for rain (they tend to live in very arid places). Aside from the cuteness factor, I wouldn't recommend them as pets. Think American spadefoot toads - not the life of the party!

That's probably one of my favorite frog videos on youtube, up there with the African Bullfrog ones. I've seen them for sale on "drop shipping" sites before, but never from dealers.
Pluke, thank you so much for sharing that video! Absolutely fascinating!
It's a shame that such a cutie stays underground so much! I guess I'll have to keep looking in regards to my next frog further down the road a bit.![]()
Although, I must say, some of my favorite tarantulas that I have ever had have appeared to be nothing more than 'holes in the dirt' to everyone passing by, lol! It's so hard to explain how you can adore something you see only every few months (if you're lucky)...
That was awesome! I love the video. Thanks for posting it.
