hey there i'm new to the forum and have turned here in need of help. Welcome to Frog Forum
I do not keep green tree frogs , but I will try to help ; making sure some basics are covered..
I recently adopted two australian green tree frogs from a breeder.
During the first night one, one decided to cram its self behind the foam background in the terrarium and became trapped for around 8 hours (i was sleeping)
I would suggest removing the background if possible. Cove three sides of the tank ( on the outside with a dark paper ie paper bag) This will help
the frogs feel more secure.
I checked on them first thing to find one missing and after much stress and panic, I turned the tank around to check behind the backing. (which was the last place i assumes it to be since it was such a tight gap) and there he was. He seemed dry so I put him in the tank pond. Since that day, two days ago, he has not eaten anything I have given them but the other frog has. I assumed it was stress but the other one is perfectly fine and showing signs of thriving in the tank.
How deep is this water? Water for soaking should not be higher than the frog's chin Also, remember to use de-chlorinated water or spring water.
The one that is not eating has even has crickets walk on him and I have attempted to contain a cricket just for him as the other frog was starting to look like a turtle. He's just stayed in the same spot except for a short wander around the tank earlier today. I worry he will starve as I am sure forcing him to eat will be more harm than good.
Do they have plant cover, proper temps and humidity?
Is is best to provide a day/night cycle and keep the enclosure in a very quite place. Avoid handling the frog unless absolutely necessary.
please post a photo of the enclosure if possible
