I got my Cane Toads about a month ago and I rarely see them out and about. I have 3 right now, I got a huge rubbermaid container for them when they first arrived home , 2 big flowerpots and a nice water dish and 2 broms were in with them. 2 of them always seem to stay together and one seems to be a loner or something I don't know, It has me worried though. Eating wise I rarely see them eat but they are eating I just dont know which ones. The routine is basically every other night I get them out of the substrate they are buried in and throw in ~30 crickets then i let them go for there nightly routine, Then check in the morning and get whats left out. I never get to enjoy watching them eat they seem so shy.
But now I got the 150 Gallon set up instead of it going to waste and decided to give it to the cane toads, The set up im showing is modified a little then what the picture shows, I had a leak and had to reset the water area, but theres 5inches of water with plenty of different rock areas. Is is safe for them in there? and there's a flower pot in the left corner of the tank for a hiding spot.
Just looking for some advice on the tank set up, and a good feeding schedule for these guys,
Haven't heard any of them talk yet so I don't know about sexes, I only have a picture of one of them since I'm at work at the pet store at the moment![]()
Those are some lucky cane toads!
Wow awesom tank!
Maybe they are to cold? Do they look at the food once you take them out ,or do they act like they are not seeing it? You could try feeding worms with some "big tweezers" .gosh I cannot rember what you call those things.
Edit: FORCEPS I rembered right after I hit enter! I use them with my animals ,and its alot of fun.
very cool tank Rick, i like the shelving u made
