They float on the surface? As long as he didn't eat pieces if the moss or a whole ball they may be ok, but I have no experience with these balls of moss. The size they are now could easily be eaten by a juvenile Pyxi so as the frog grows you may want to relocate the balls of moss since they grow so slowly and the frog will definitely grow rapidly enough that they could be a problem.

On the other hand as long as the frog is Fed on the substrate side and not in the water source ingestion won't be an issue.

They don't float at the surface. They will rise to the top to perform photosynthesis, but other than that, they float around the middle of the water or sit and roll around at the bottom. As far as I know, my pixie has never eaten in the water. I think I may give it a test run.

they aren't actually moss, but a form of algae. cladophora, i think. they only got the name because they look like moss. people use them in planted tanks quite often.
