In the care sheet it says nothing about fish in the pixies diet? I understand goldfish are to be avoided but what about feeder comets ? They look a lot like goldfish are they ok? I've been feeding a mostly cricket died some super worms dusted and one mouse in the 2 1/2 or so weeks I've had it and its grown .5" that's crazy!!
Comets are the same as Roseies and Goldfish. Use Guppies, Minnows, or Silversides.
EDIT; Add Night Crawlers to the diet. They're an excellent food for frogs and very nutritious. They also are soft and easily digested so your frog will be more regular with bowel movements.
I can't find earthworms anywhere its very limited where I am, pet stores don't carry them and fishing is out of seasonill keep looking though.
I'm wondering how do you guys offer fish to your frogs? I raise guppies here at home, and would love to give one as a treat now and then, but just how do you go about doing such a thing? I've seen Youtube videos where people just drop a fish into an empty tub with the frog, but the frog has a terrible time getting a hold of the fish and the poor fish is flopping around all over the place...there has got to be an easier way! Shallow dish of water? Fish in tongs? Pre-killed or f/t fish wiggled with tongs?
You can place the fish in the frogs water dish while the frog is bathing or place the frog in a feeder tank with some shallow water so the fish can swim a little and the frog can Chase it around. A small feeder tank is best so the frog doesn't have so much trouble.
You can also offer them with tongs.
