Then I thought... Why not now?

So i rushed to the pet store and got shmoozed out of the frog and talked into a corn snake.... I loved the snake but for some reason I wasnt satisfied and my recently ex girlfriend told me I needed a pet who would be more social and intractable (because she hated frogs with a p

So i got a Cat..... hated the cat....all it did was beg for food and it just got under my skin.... Had cat-soup

Then i got a Rat... Loved the rat but in my small apartment it was peeing and pooping everywhere... shed a tear and then returned rat...\

And finally me and my GF split up cause she was a crazy psyco and i thought.... "why have i deviated from what caught my attention at the start?"

Unfortunatly when i took that cat in i made a commitment. . . And where i am from kittens and cats are like herpes. . . Everyone is trying to give
them away. . . Therefor the only way i could take responsibility was to make use of the animal as food. . . Also i am moving to china soon and wanted to expand my tolerated foods. . . . And yes is was gross. . . Had a funk to it

whenever i use my tablet to post i favor the elipsis :P

Good Morning (Ohaiyo gozaimasu), welcome to Frog Forum! I used to live in Japan many years ago when I was in elementary school so I recognized your greeting There are many pacman keepers on this forum and they will be most helpful in keeping your frog healthy.

@ Griff.. you have been to China? if so that is awesome.. will they let me take my frog with me?
@ Terry. HAJIMEMA****E!!!!!!! (lols just noticed it bleeped out shi te) Everyone is super helpful and nice here... it is a really nice break fro real life.

I kinda got started with the whole pet thing cause I've suffered some real losses in my life in the past year and I have become pretty introverted and antisocial because most college kids are just pampered brats at my school... But i found the fake love most pets give you doesnt fool me... they just want you to feed them and who wouldnt want to be scratched all day. That is where I have found my sanctuary with my Pacman, Dr. Okami... He doesnt want anything from me nore does he promise me anything. It is simply my desire to care for him and keep him fat and happy. Dont know why that gives me comfort but for some reason it really does..

I also like to look at my Vivarium with all the smooth coco fiber and trendy design I did... kinda like a zen garden.

But then I started reading up these forums and saw how nice everyone was and how everyone shared a love for something and it reminded me of a little, happy community. I put my post up last night and Griff responded almost instantly. Cant say I wasnt kinda choked up cause I am so used to seeing those family like communities from afar and never invited. But the way everyone has been treating me it's like I am welcome... Dont mind me I'm not a basket case just going through a lot of loss :/

Nevertheless, You guys are all so frickin knowledgeable and seem to have a longstanding love for frogs... cant wait to learn and contribute when i can.

    You guys r boss

Oh, and without further adieu, Dr. Okami

Yes, I have. I did a study abroad program there during college. It is definitely an amazing place. My trip there was before I stared keeping frogs so I am not sure about the laws and regulations. Most countries are very strict about importing/exporting animals so I would definitely check into that ahead of time. What are you going to China for?

This is a really great forum! I am glad you have found your way here. It is always good to be surrounded by people with common interest. The goal here is to create a friendly environment where people can learn and share their love of frogs. I know that when I first joined I was hesitant at first. Talking to a bunch of random people online seemed weird. I honestly didn't think I'd stick around. But there is so much to learn and people here are so friendly and helpful. Again, Welcome!

That's cool! What area are you going to be in?

P.S. stock up on toilet paper. Most public restrooms don't have any.

I wasn't in that area so I can't really help you out. Um... it's a cultural thing. But be prepared for that. Also, most of the toilets are not the kind you sit on. Do as much research as you can before hand. It helps with the culture shock. The language barrier sucks, but everyone I met was really friendly. A lot of people like to take their pictures with Americans, particularly if you are tall or have blond or red hair. The more rural area you're in, the more of a novelty that is. It is an amazing country to visit.

Pluke and Bill: remind me never to visit you guys. Lol!

So I am getting my grant money soon from my college and figured i was going to get a 55gallon tank and start keeping another type of frogs.... I want frogs who are hunters and are fun to watch even when they are not hunting... also i would like to be able to handle them somewhat but that isnt a necessity.... Any ideas guys?

I love watching my white's hunt. They are big klutz's and tear their tank up, but they are fun to watch hunt...lol otherwise, my guys just sleep, but they are active during the day sometimes and they are a bit more tolerant of handling.
