The last 3 meals my Pacman frog has eaten I have had to force feed, the first two were pupal stage Meal Worms (e.i Meal Worms that were in the stage of becoming beetles) and the meal I just gave now was 2 Meal Worms. I hate forcing my frog, who before this has eaten very very well, to eat anything. I am planning on getting crickets here soon and I'm crossing my fingers that he eats those on his own. I don't want to stress my frog out although I have done that enough with the force feeding. Is there anything else I can do?
Cage Temp: 80-82 degrees
Humidity: 70%
Substrate: Coco Earth
*Has clean water every day, dusted food when given and I make sure that the room he is in is quiet*
Frog Size: 2" by 2" (before 2" wide by near 3" long)
If your going through the effort and potential stress on your frog of force feeding, stay away from mealworms. They are never appropriate in my opinion. How often is the frog eating them? They are high in chitin that can impact your frog, causing illness and death. Try Hornworms, silkworms or Nightcrawlers. How long have you actually given your frog to eat before assuming it wont do it on its own and resorting to force feeding?
