So I went to the reptile expo today. I hate to say it, but it was a disappointment. There really wasn't much there at all. I did buy some awesome fake plants for $1 though! So since they didn't have any white's tree frogs there I decided to get one at my local petco. I was extremely tempted to get a really dark one there with really awesome white spots. They were bright, solid white and the size of a pencil eraser. BUT I wanted one that was a bit bigger since it will be going in with Glurmo after the 30 days (or more depending on growth) of quarantine. I got a really pretty bright green one (to compliment Glurmo's dark olive color). It's about 1.25 - 1.5 inches so a bit smaller than Glurmo. I was so hoping for a female but OF COURSE he started croaking not once, but twice since he's been here. I didn't think they croaked like that when they were that young? What do I know!?
Since he's a bit smaller I'm not sure how much and how often he should be eating. He seems much more active than Glurmo. Glurmo likes to just casually creep around, but this guy is fast! His color dulled out a lot so he's about the same color as Glurmo right now but once he brightens up he'll be a perfect opposite. Will his color come back when he adjusts a bit? No name yet, but I'm considering Lrrr.![]()
Sorry to hear that the reptile show was a dissapointment.. it happens, unfortunately it seems unless you go to a huge expo like NARBC or Repticon you aren't guaranteed to find what you're looking for. Glad you found a white's at your petco though. I don't know much about them, but I do know that Glurmo is an awesome name and Lrrr.. well, that is too. You must be a fan of futurama, either that or it's just an extreme coincidence.![]()
I am a Futurama fanatic. I also have a crayfish named Zoidberg and used to have a cat named Leela. Oh and my pacman frog was named Hypnotoad. When I'm finally able to get a Rottweiler it will be named Morbo. I think a have a problem lol.
The expo still had some cool stuff. There were tons of baby turtles and tortoises that were adorable. And Macs Poison had some awesome looking dart frogs. He also had some really pretty strawberry pacs. Very cool.
Oh nice, hopefully he'll have some strawberries when he gets around to Taylor, you remember how much they were?
Rottweilers are awesome. I used to have a 150 lb Rott, he was massive. The only thing that I don't like about them is the fact that they don't live very long, which is normal for large dogs. Still 100% worth getting, they are huge babies despite their image and threat display.. best guard dog you'll ever have. Morbo will be a good name for it, I don't remember that particular character from the show, but still a great name.
I didn't see how much he was selling them for, but his prices on everything else seemed really reasonable. They were very small, maybe nickel sized and absolutely beautiful.
I had a very large rottie growing up. He was the best dog and I miss him a ton. He was the sweetest and goofiest dog I've even seen but I also have no doubt that he wouldn't hesitate to fiercely protect me. Morbo is the newscaster on Futurama. His completely name is Morbo the Annihilator. I would just love to tell someone that was my dog's name LOL.
The new white's has colored up a little bit but is still a lot darker than he was in the store. He ate three small crickets last night with no hesitation but looks super skinny. I can actually see his ribs all the way down. I'm thinking they weren't feeding them enough at the pet store. There were about 10 other frogs in the tank so he had a lot of competition. Still really not sure how much I should be feeding him though? I'm assuming where he's so skinny he should get fed quite a bit right now?
