so i have two american green tree frogs i got recently, they arent that big. anyways, i try to feed them every other day or so in a separate container. one of them eats well but the other one NEVER EATS. only on sundays. so the one eats ONe cricket Per Week. is this normal? it would be devastating if he NEVER ate. but atleast he decides to eat atleast one per week. it seems healthy, but im not sure? pls help to clarify this
That's not allot of eating, especially for a young one. Is it possible it's still getting stressed out from being moved to your separate container? Have you tried feeding them in their vivarium? If you're worried about crickets running free in it, you could try the http://www.frogforum.net/vivarium-te...owl-trick.html and make food available every day.
You could also try varying the diet. Earthworms, waxworms, sow bugs, mealworms, there might be something it's more willing to eat.
Or maybe it disagrees with the size of the crickets you're feeding and thinks they're too big.
Good luck![]()
I also agree. I have been keeping the same species that you have for about 4 years, and I have had many individuals. Try feeding them in their vivarium first, and make sure that you are using the correct size crickets. I have trained a few of my green trees to eat from non-sharp tweezers and even by hand, so that could also be something that you can look in to.
Good luck! I look forward to hearing an update!
