Default Decided after a long time i want a Pacman!

Ive always wanted one and now i think the time has come. I started setting up a tank last night, 20gal tall alittle over half land and the rest water with acrylic seperator that i sealed in it. Im gonna make a waterfall out of some bark and an old aquarium pump and put some sponges near pump to clean the water alittle, can i use carbon too? wouldnt think that would hurt any... But anywho mainly wanted to throw up some pics and see if this idea is good or not lol... Tis a really small pump im using so water will moveName: IMG_6362.jpg

Read this Frog Forum - Pacman and Horned Frogs - Ceratophrys - Care and Breeding.

As a word of advice. Pacman Frogs do not do well in Vivariums. Also they are not good swimmers. Water depth would have to be really shallow. Only as deep as up to the frog's chin.

Ya I have read them dudes dont like swimming too much. That is why I'm using the fish tank gravel so the depth of the water can easily be changed. I have not seen much on them not doing well in a vivarium, after all this work I'm going to try it. Luckily if it does not go well i have other tanks i can quickly set up for it.

Strongly recommend you read the care article that Colleen/Jerrod linked. Can't use gravel on a Pacman tank because of the risk that frog ingests gravel and gets impacted, with possible fatal results .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

agree with the guys, vivarium + pacman = bad idea unfortunately, with the amount of waste they produce it doesn't matter what kind of filter you have, you will still need to change water every day ( well with a filter if a frog wasn't in a water at all i would probably go every second-third day) and substrate every month. 20 gal is way way too big if you're getting a baby. a water area gotta be shallow, no higher then a frogs chin, it is a matter of drowning, they don't swim at all.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

Hiya , I got mine when he was around 4 months old . He was living in an exo terra glass viv a 30-30-45 on its back. I covered 3 sides with cardboard and he was fine! I upgraded to a plastic tank as he got bigger. Its big and he moves around a lot in it at night, every morning theres 4-5 big holes where he has been lol. For water I use a water bowl , an old plastic ready meal tray( well washed)

Having had both pacs and fishtanks, I can say that no filter I've ever seen could hold up to the amount of coco-fiber pacs track into water with them for very long.
