Default Whites in need of HELP warning graphic!

Ok so I had 2 days off in a row (animal curator), which it seems something always goes wrong. Well apparently this is no exception! So I went to check on my 2 whites and noticed one looked funny, upon further inspection he/she is missing a grip of its toes, in fact all the ones on the back left foot-1 on the front left and 2 on the front right! I spent all day ripping apart the inclosure, the only thing I found was a very LARGE cricket, to big to be taken by either of my little ones. Could a cricket do this much damage? What, besides putting neosporin (original) on it, can I do? Will he/she recover? I've never had a frog this badly injured b4. He/she is very active, and alert so... Just for everyone's knowledge I fired the worker who put the huge crickets in and didn't monitor them for the last 2 days. AHHHHHHHHHHHHh this is frustrating!!!!!!!! Anyway if anyone has any useful info please help thanks oh and sorry for the bad pics all i had was my tablet so...

It's just terrible. I can't imagine any cricket doing this. I don't think this employee has given you the truth as to what happened to her ? I'm sorry she is so injured. She needs a vet ASAP / antibiotics and possibly antibiotic soaks. Poor thing.

Hmm is it possible that it climbed on a hot surface that burned it? Like maybe a heat mat got too hot or a heat bulb got too close?

Theres no way it got burned cause the cage isn't heated the room(there are 8 other tanks in the room as well) it's is so... Like I said, when I cleaned the tanks the only thing I found was that large(1+ inch) cricket. There's nothing else in the tank that could have hurt the frog at all, they've been in there for like 6 month.

How awful, so sorry to hear about this! I second the antibiotic/soak...could it have been a tank mate? Does he seem healthy otherwise?? Sounds like a cool job, if things go smoothly! At a natural history museum?

crickets are very popular for this damage. when I worked at a reptile store people brought in frogs and baby reptiles asking why an eye or toe was missing. If there is nothing in the enclosure for the cricket to eat within 2 days then they will eat your pets alive. and sometimes this will pose a huge risk for infection if left untreated. It was right for you to fire the negligent worker. I wish the best for this little guy, you may have to find him a special needs home.

    Hi IrishRonin~
I had an injured red-eye treefrog, she was injured when I was cleaning her enclosure (about 6ish weeks ago).
Though you don't know how your WTF was injured, I assume the injuries may be treated in a similar way to my RETF's injuries.
    what I learned:
-keep the enclosure very clean (paper towel substrate, hospital tank).
-clean water dish daily with very with hot water, a lot of friction, and dried with clean paper towel
-use the non-pain reliever neosporin twice per day on affected tissue -until you can get Silver
-time is of the essence, cleanliness is key
-enclosure should be in a quite room, with proper temp and humidity
-Plan on treating your frog for at least 6 weeks
Definitely email Dr. Frye. He can send you the meds, and you (or the zoo you work at) can pay with paypal or credit card. It's super easy.
    Good Luck

It was either a Bacterial Infection or Chytrid, which is common with Whites. Both will cause the visual sores.......
