Ive had my pixie since april and i purchased him a big size. Im guessing he may have been a few months old when i bought him. Anyway, ive noticed that he doesnt look much bigger since about 2 months ago. Do they stop growing at some point then have a growth spurt? Ive seen pictures of huge pixies and i wonder why mine hasnt really grown.
All i feed is nightcrawlers and occasionally pinkie. I do dust with calcium and vitamin so i just would like some insight as to why he hasnt grown.
About how big is he now? A picture would help. Also, he may be a she, females are significantly smaller than males.
Also, what are the conditions of his enclosure? That may have something to do with it but I'm not sure how that would effect growth unless he/ah is really stressed, which can stunt them.
I'd say svl just under 5inches and on coco fiber. I don't think he is stressed. I had posted pics a while back and was told its a male. I will try to get new pics up later. He eats every single time I feed him so I never have an issue with eating
Yea a pic would really help.
Pumba in his water bowl. Let me know if a pic is needed from another angle
I have herd they do have a tendency to slow down in growth i forget where i saw this table cart on the growth of an ABF, not sure how accurate it is but i will sure try to find it for you tomorrow or you can try to Google it you have to figure they say they live to about 20 years old i am sure they do not grow to full size in a couple of years you know.
Have a good night

how much do u feed him? its a male forsure but how much do u feed? they can take in quite a large amount of food
I feed him 3 times a week. I was feeding 5 nightcrawlers per feeding but yesterday I increased it to 8. Haha sounds crazy but he puts them down with no problem
He also poops regularly after every feeding
Well he's a male, probably just slowing down in growth for now. Mine did the same. Went from 2-4 inches in one month, then 4-6 in a little over 2 months. They keep growing for awhile, I wouldn't worry![]()
