Okay, so my pac man frog has been under the soil for a week and half and finally dug himself out today. All day he's been acting lifeless. I tried to hand feed him some crickets, but he doesn't seem to want to eat, but I've never really had to hand feed him since he likes to catch his own crickets before so i don't know exactly how to hand feed him I guess (probably simple, but he doesn't want eat out of the tweezers or my fingers or anything) I don't know if this is normal or what.. but it's scaring me ): He's gotten extremely tiny and skinny now.. For some info on his set up, he's in a 10 gallon tank. I use ground coconut fiber substrate. Heat lamp for keeping his home around 80 F during the day. He has a cave thingy to hide under at anytime he wants to, I use distilled water for misting. The humidity inside the tank usually stays around 60%.
60% is on the low end I feel. Try bumping it up to 80% and maybe add a UTH (placed on the side) for an extra few degrees. 80 is usually fine but maybe your frog will be more comfortable in the 84/85 range. You have a water bowl that you change daily as well? And your misting with spring water or treated tap water?
Edit: I see you mentioned distilled water for misting. You are not using for the water dish as well are you? That can suck vitamins right from the frog and be harmful, even fatal.
He is probably dehydrated and malnourished from not eating for a while. I recommend going out and buying some UNFLAVORED PEDIALYTE. Prepare a bath with the Pedialyte at a 10 to 1 ratio. So for every 10 ounces of de-de-chlorinated water add 1 ounce of unflavored Pedialyte. Make sure the water is Luke warm and no deeper than up to his chin. Soak for 20 minutes. This will help hydrate him. Perform this bath daily for at least a week.
thanks everyone i'm going to try and do this today.. i hope he'll get better soon

The more info we have, the easier it is to try to help.
It's too late ): He died...
im so sorry for your loss
Im sorry to hear that Jennie, you tried what you could![]()
I'm very sorry for your loss. He probably tried to aestivate(dry season dormancy period) and was too young to do so. Many complications can arise if the frog is too young to preform this task when conditions are not correct and the animal hasn't enough fat stores and poorly hydrated.
In the future just so you know what water to use it should be either natural spring water or tap water treated with a de-chlorinating agent like Prime or Repti-Safe.
Once again I'm very sorry.
mhm.. I feel like I was only a second late from saving him l: I told myself as soon as I wake up I gotta go to wal mart and get the pedialyte.. but when I came back from wal mart, he was dead, but thanks everyone. I'm glad I can come here for help.
so sorry for your loss
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
