    Default ID Help

A few nights ago I found this little guy on the road during a rainstorm. I assumed it was a peeper, but some more knowledgeable friends say no. They seem to be leaning more toward a young green tree frog. Any ideas?

    Sorry the pics aren't good.

It doesn't look like a peeper to me- the white stripe under the eye would be unusual it doesn't appear to have the characteristic 'X' on the back (but this is hard to tell from the picture). The toe pads look small for it to be a green treefrog, but again it's hard to tell from the pics.

You might want to look at a list of Maryland frogs and compare with both your pictures and your memory. For example Discover Maryland's Herps - Wildlife and Heritage Service - Maryland Department of Natural Resources In particular check out the Upland Chorus frog or it's look alike the New Jersey Chorus frog (under the family Hylidae, which yours falls under).
