My female pacman has her days and nights mixed up. How do I fix this? She peeks her head out of her burrow at 4 or 5 am, instead of the usual one hour after I turn her daylights out. The first time it happened, I fed her because she had been burrowed for 3 or 4 days due to a cage cleaning. It's been 3 or 4 more days and I haven't fed her since then to try and get her back on track, but I went to bed last night around 10 and she was still buried. Came in this morning to check on her at 5:30, and sure enough there's her little head looking up at me. What can I do to get back to her nocturnal self?
Thanks for the help!
why would you want to fix this? if you have day/night for her and that is what she chooses to do, why worry? or if you want you can just not feed her for a while and when she is really hungry she'd start looking sooner. or use less substrate so she can't burrowed completely, then she'd see food as it comes, and you will be able to see her all the time too![]()

As soon as her daylights come on she burrows back down. If I feed her in the morning, it is always totally dark. It's not like she's out hunting or soaking with the daylights on...wouldn't that be nice. Her internal clock is just tweaked. Nice idea regarding the substrate...thinking of trying that and/or giving her a few really short days (6-8 hours) to she if she comes up sooner.
I wouldn't experiment with shorter days, keep it at 12 hours day/night. the other thought - where is the tank? if the room is very bright ( lot of light) late at night- that might explain it too. all my frogs are in a reptile room, when light are out in the cages -the room is dark, but still they come out well after midnight on their own unless somebody is really hungry
