Hi,
I'm new to the boards, I'm Clare.
In the summer of this year we purchased 2 whites tree froglets. They went into a beautifully set up viv and consequently we never saw them again. We quickly realised this was far too big, the crickets would hide before the little froglets could find them etc. So I set up a smaller 'nursery' viv and this was much better, they both were doing fine.
Although as time passed one of the frogs was growing at an alarming rate, the other was tiny and very skinny, we observed her eating and she would struggle to get crickets. We also noticed the soil had little bugs in it.
So I remedied this by: removing the soil, giving them bamboo plants only, and a small glass bowl for crickets. I found the hygroballs alone provided ample humidity in this tank. Things were going well, my ever increasing large frog, demands food, croaks when he sees us and is healthy, the smaller one had bulked up and although behind seemed healthy. My temps and humidity were great the froggies were both doing well, soon to be moving into the bigger tank again.
This morning shock horror..... I do not know what happened in there last night, but there is a huge worm stuck to the side of the glass, on closer inspection, the area where my froggies sit also has some dried out worms on it, there's some on the roof, and white stuff in blobs scattered around. I never even realised frogs could get worms, these aren't nematodes these are the sort of worm i would expect to see in a dog or cat.
I really dont know what to do to treat them, I cant seem to find any info on the web about worms of this nature.
Vets in my area are useless with any unusual pet, they call rabbits exotic, I rescue tortoises and when I need wormer for them getting a bottle of Panacur is a nightmare. So I know I need to sort of teach the vet, bypassing the nitty gritty and providing me with the treatment.
Please please please could someone give me some info? How have they got these, were they live caught?
Thanks in advance
Clare x
Hi Care,
Welcome to Frog Forum.
Would it be possible to post a photo?
There, just, must be a herp vet near you somewhere.
Is there a herp. society you could contact? Where is the nearest zoo?

you really want to get a fecal test done to see exactly what they have. there are a few vets that do business over the phone. one is by the name of DR. Frye. I have never had to do business with him but he is highly recommended through these threads.
here is some contact info. keep this info just in case you need them in the future. good luck!
