Sorry Jay, I didn't see your question before I left to go to the store. (I went to go get some supplies for the tank) The silicone will waterproof the foam, but I think the foam is already waterproof. The silicone and moss/coco fiber etc. is just to make it look nice. Just make sure you give everything plenty of time to cure.

Hello Disco! I looked at the website you posted and it looks like the Selleys 'No More Big Gaps' is the same as the 'Great Stuff' foam filler we use here. I am not 100% so I will wait for someone more knowledgeable to chime in.

Sherry is correct......the no more big gaps is the one you want. While it may be tempting to use the other one since it cleans up with soap and water, i would shy away from it. Something about the phrase "compressible foam" puts me off. I didn't know k-mart and true value had stores in kiwi-ville!!....lol

Well i use the black foam more for pond areas...i find that u will use lesser time to do touch up with it because its black and the cocopeats hides it better too...the white ones not so cool.
It expands pretty impressively but at times...it sort of like deflates and leaves behind ugly wrinkles...for white foams, soudal gives a better hard texture and also the surface tends to be rougher too
Both foams will float unless u either squeeze them in tightly or glue them in.

Oh yar...dont forget to put on yer gloves when u work with it...its tends to get pretty sticky and messy when accidentally touch it.
Give it sometime to harden its surface and it will be pliable...and thus u can make neat stuff out of it
