    Default Toad (over?)feeding video

So as some of you know I have a large female Rococo Toad. She eats monstrous amounts. Crickets are useless. She can easily eat 100 and after still act like she has still been starved for weeks. Ive fed her a couple mice like the video below. After I stopped feeding I dropped in 5 Goliath Worms out of curiosity and they were all gone as they hit the tank. How often is it safe to feed mice? As you can see its barely a mouthful for her. Ive heard the risks of obesity but she is VERY active and doesnt seem obese to me. Just thick. Bare in mind this is a Rococo Toad. They are evolved to be garbage disposals. Small prey items are essentially useless to her. And get very expensive.

damnnnn she gulped it up like it was a cricket~! I love her appetite - you must be thrilled! I've seen toads eat birds before too. There feathers are way easier to digest than feathers and they are less fattening. (Think chicken babies, goose babies, duck babies and I assume pet store birds). Aslong as the item you are feeding the lovely rococo was monitored by humans and was fed nothing poisonous or dangerous it is far game. Also anything consumable to humans at the grocery store is a good idea too! aslong as you can jiggle lets say a piece of chicken breast or flounder safely. Anything being consumed by humans is illness free BUT I would make sure nothing you feed to your frog was fed hormones or was injected with colors or dyes. . Good luck!

I am very thrilled. Both my Pacman and this big girl are absolutely voracious.
It probably is a good idea to try small birds but pet stores here in Calgary are fairly lacking with anything but crickets. And they are pricey! I love hornworms but the cheapest you can find them here are around 1.50-1.90 each. Nightcrawlers are around 8$ per 24 and so are a pack of 100 crickets. Ill look into small bird costs cause at the rate she is eating its costing me a minimum of close to 20$ a week for her alone!
