I have a "reptile tank" from a previous pet that's Roughly 18"x18"x36". I was getting ready to haul it out of storage for a paludarium project when I discovered that "someone" had cracked the bottom pane and left me a sweet little "SORRY LOL!" note without ever having actually told me. The sides are all intact, but the bottom pane cracked from side to side, right across the drilled drainage hole.
What could be done to stabilize this? Is it a lost cause? I'd considered upending the tank, pouring a layer of marine epoxy over the whole thing and putting a piece of ply under there. Similarly I'd considered having a new bottom cut, and either replacing it or basically sandwiching it to the bottom with a layer of silicone.
The Paludarium was planned to hold a max of about 10gl, along the front lower half. The back lower portion would be soil, and the upper portion GS-sculpted with drift wood and other. There would be a total divider wall which would also be GS-foamed and sculpted with driftwood and stones to simulate a river-bank.
