Well, they're basically spring-loaded at both ends. Muscle has limits on speed and power, so some animals use elastic tendons (and other structures) to store the energy from the muscle, then release it all at once. It's like how if you throw an arrow, it won't go far, but if you use a bow to store energy and then release it, it goes farther and faster.
Many frogs have elastic tendons in their legs, and while this hasn't been specifically tested in pacmans, I wouldn't be surprised. Similarly, many have elastic jaw muscles which allow their jaws to fling open really fast.
Holy poo that was like a bullet leaving the barrel like dang, you pull the trigger blink and you see only a downed animal.(I hope my Pacman will get that big he just a baby).![]()
