I think snails secrete mucus that is toxic to frogs. They can also get parasites from the snails. I would go with the roaches, and nightcrawlers are good too.

Ok thanks I'm going to continue feeding shandy crickets until the worms/slugs have bred and created a "captive" batch of slugs so I know they're parasite free Thanks everyone!
