last night my tiger salamander accidentily swallowed a small bit of moss when I fed him .anything to do to help get it out of his system?![]()
I'm not sure if there is anything... I would feed him nightcrawlers, they can help move it along. As long as it wasn't a lot he should pass it hopefully.
Best of luck!
I had a baby pacman frog eat some moss before I could get it from him. I thought I'd have trouble and thought for sure I had killed him. It's been several months now and he didn't have any trouble with digesting it. I'm wondering if your salamander will just be able to digest it because it was a small piece.
That what I was thinkin too. It depends in the size of the moss an the size of the salamander. Regardless, any amount off moss does pose a risk, but I think this will turn out ok.
My tigers swallow dirt and stuff all the time during feedings. I'm sure yours will be just fine. These kinds of things happen, even in nature.
Thanks guys hes about a foot long and thanks for the support I gave him a luke warm honey bath(I thought really risky)and it came out with the crickets!
its not a big deal. A small piece of moss is no big deal at all.
This doesn't have to do with salamanders but my king snake mis-struck one day during feeding and bit down on a piece of plastic leaf in the terrarium. He twisted it off and swallowed it. 2 weeks later in his feces was the plastic leaf in its entirety. I hope everything is fine with your little one.
