Housing on foam questions

I'm trying out housing a few of my pacman frogs on foam. I have basically a 3/4" layer of foam, a water dish, then put about between 1/4 - 1/2" of water in the bottom.

How often do I need to rinse and/or change the foam in this type of setup?

I think that is the species they own and the numbers are (I think) 1.1.1. would be 1 male, 1 female and 1 juvenile. I hope that makes sense, I am not good at explaining things.

emandkel- I felt bad for stealing your thread so I wanted to try to find an answer to your question. I can't find find anything but I was wondering what kind of foam you have them on? Are you opposed to coco fiber? About the cleaning, I would clean it every time it looks dirty.

is this what you are referring to housing with foam? I seen this in the Japanese and Taiwanese websites. From one of the sites, they recommended changing water at least once a week. Haven't found anything on how often the foam needs to be changed.

that is exactly right, except - 1.2.3 would mean 1 male, 2 females, 3 unsexed

as for foam substrate - why would you want that? never tried foam but used paper towels in quarantine tank, since they are disposable it was easy, you just throw them away and put new every day, but with foam - i imagine you need to rinse it well every single day and disinfect, a huge headache and lot of unnecessary work if you ask me. way better to just use eco earth, then you change it every month, spot clean as you see it and stir substrate once in a while. you'll have way more time to enjoy the frog as opposed work for it it is less stressful for a frog too.
