frogs won't eat

My ph is high somewhere around 8, that's the same as their old tank and they were very happy in there. I mistakenly thought that if I used a lot of decor/rocks and a filter from cycled tanks that the new tank would basically be cycled already. I was wrong so right now there is no nitrate but there is some ammonia around .25. I'm doing extra water changes to keep it down. My frogs hide almost the time in this tank but have occassionally been swimming around but still won't eat. When I see one near the front I offer him food thinking he's hungry but they just ignore the bloodworm and swim away from it. When I got home from work today it looks like one is all bloated as well I have had these guys before and never had so many problems with them.

I would not worry about PH. It is not as much a factor as water quality. It sounds like you are on top of it though. These frogs are more sensitive, skittish, and fragile then the Clawed frogs. I have had great success with them in the past and huge failures since. Very frustrating. They are worth it though once you get a good group and everything running smooth. You can try to entice them to eat other and better foods perhaps. Mine always find mysis and spirulina enriched brine to be top notch and irresistible. I really hate bloodworm as a food for these guys. The few times I used it in the past my frogs paid by dying of bloat one by one.
I find that giving them more hiding places actually makes them more active. They will eventually be out and about once they are comfortable though.
