Help with heating.

Got my new frog yesterday and hooked up the uth. It is stuck to the side of my medium kritter keeper. But it isn't getting up to 82. The air temp in the room is about 72-73. I know a bulb will give the heat I need, but how do I use it without melting my keeper? I was thinking about those one that are designed to fit in the door on top, but they are only like 7 watts. Any ideas?

Get a 50 watt and below light bulb with a 5.5" clamp light with a dimmer so you can get the right temperature for the frog.

shouldnt my freand showed me a trick for that sounds nuts but it seams to work put a thick piece of white constuction papper folded in a gentale V one the cc it will stop the melting while allowing good amount of heat threw must be white or light colored tho

I have been using the clamp, and it has not melted it so far.

That's why you buy a lamp that has a dimmer switch. You adjust the the bulb for the right amount of light and heat. Keep the lamp 10" to 12" above the keeper and it should be fine.

ok. I always just set the light on top of the metal screen for my reptiles. That's why I was wondering about melting.

Use a daylight bulb for day and a infrared for night. You'll want to hover around 78° at night.
