Brown whites to green white

i heard that to have your whites to turn green you need either higher temps and lower humity or the other way around i dont remeber, but i also hears it has to do with the color of the background. I cant seem to find a staright anwser so will some one help me out

Mine change colour dependng on their background. ie when they're sitting on the bark-effect background in the terrarium, they tun brown. Whereas they turn green if sitting on their plants/vines

Same here. Its a light and dark background thing, as it is will a lot of frog species.

so chubb chubb is green now he was sleepin on a leaf and i when i got home i notice he was green thanks kurt for the advice

I have 5 whites living together in a very large tank. Most mornings I find them sleeping in a big pile all together. Even though they are sitting on the same surface and have the same temps and humidity, they are all different colors. Some are brown, some green, some patchy.
