after keeping fish for so long, you kind of get used to it. but it is always tough. earlier this year, my wife thought she saw a bug in the kitchen, which just happens to be right above my tanks, and sprayed the bejesus out of it. wifey no like buggies...lol well, problem is, something in the aerosol bug sprays will kill aquatic invertebrates within a few hours. it is ridiculous crazy, i had all my fish survive, but all 10 colonies of different breed shrimps, dead. took about 6 hours and they were all dead. well over 1500 shrimp. it was 100% loss.took me days to figure it out and i was kind of inconsolable for a week. then i figured out what it was, and nicely, yes i actually was nice, told her to please never spray anything in the kitchen again. of course, all those shrimp tanks are now becoming frog tanks, so moral of this long story, when one door closes......

Have you put out bowls of water everywhere to lure the frog?

Bill, sorry to hear about your missing frog. I hope it shows up somewhere. Now I have to get up and make sure my tank doors are locked.

You don't think one of the kids at the party could have taken it do you? I don't mean to say your daughter's friends are thieves but maybe one got a little curious about the frogs???

When my frog escaped she was found in my bedroom, I don't know how she got out of the porch when the door was closed, but I found her under my bed amongst some N64 controllers (still got it lol) so yeah look in every cupboard, drawer and room no matter how unlikely you think it is that the frog is in there.
Good luck with finding your frog.

Nope.....the friends she had over are like my 2nd and third daughters and teenies, they would rather the frog be a prince.....lol

I know this may be odd. But maybe you could play some frog calls on youtube or make your own sounds that could possibly make him call? If you have a laptop or a smartphone, you could walk around the house playing the sounds. He could respond.

Not odd at all, at least i don't think so since i did that most of the day sunday. Lol the downside is, neither of my frogs have called. They are still young. I just assumed they were boys because well, i am. It's a testosterone thing i guess. But my car is female....lol

Got a text from my son a few minutes ago. He was doing his chores and found my frog. Unfortunately, it was while he was changing one of the cats' litter boxes. The enclosure is right at the bottom of the basement steps, so i guess he jumped to the steps and up to the kitchen. To my big cat's credit, he is an excellent mouser, and he puts his kills in his litter box. The little cat isn't as nice, he leaves his kills all over. We have several foreclosed properties in the neighborhood, so everyone has been getting mice it really sucks that it happened, but at least now i can go forward.

Well, it's not like i could do anything to bring them back. And she didn't know. Sometimes things happen beyond our control, and how you deal with it shows your true character to the world
