    Default wtf....where's my wtf?

apparently, over the course of saturday night. my daughter had some friends sleep over. well, they wanted to see my frogs while i was sleeping and left the lid on my wtf enclosure askew. needless to say, that after an exhausting sunday of searching everywhere i could think of, he was no where to be found of course, i know to look for anywhere that would be damp, but since i have numerous fish tanks and vivs in my basement, that pretty much includes everywhere, which is where i searched. still nothing. looked for a couple hours today when i got home, still nothing. let's just say that my daughter and i had a nice long talk about entering my fish/frog room when i am not present. on the upside, the prophet (my remaining wtf) now has a very large 60g enclosure to himself......well at least for a month or so.

awesome suggestion, i didn't even think of that. probably because i don't have any drawers in the basement. not that you could have known. but with all the tanks and equipment, it can get a bit humid in the height of summer. so everything is stored in sealed plastic tubs and/or stored on open shelving. even my tank stands are all open.

I'm sorry to hear about your whites. I recently had a similar incident with one of my FBTs.

after keeping fish for so long, you kind of get used to it. but it is always tough. earlier this year, my wife thought she saw a bug in the kitchen, which just happens to be right above my tanks, and sprayed the bejesus out of it. wifey no like buggies...lol well, problem is, something in the aerosol bug sprays will kill aquatic invertebrates within a few hours. it is ridiculous crazy, i had all my fish survive, but all 10 colonies of different breed shrimps, dead. took about 6 hours and they were all dead. well over 1500 shrimp. it was 100% loss.took me days to figure it out and i was kind of inconsolable for a week. then i figured out what it was, and nicely, yes i actually was nice, told her to please never spray anything in the kitchen again. of course, all those shrimp tanks are now becoming frog tanks, so moral of this long story, when one door closes......
