Default Noobie question on breeding Darts

Hi all...wanna get some ideas of what i will be doing is right or wrong

Are Darts badly affected by inbreeding ???
I'm curious as i see people wanting to breed them all the time.
The situation is this, i will be gettin some Dart froglets soon 3-4 species
Thing is, these are the offspring of the parental stock that i have missed out a few months ago when it arrived.
So i am guessing that the parental stocks generally will come from the same blood line and such...and i do not know what the grand-parental are like either.
I am quite concerned that if i breed this lil froglets...it would be considered in-breeding and will spoil the quality and health of the frogs...

Kinda scary to think about that...

    Thanks in advance

It takes many generations before inbreeding has negative effects.

the paparazzi is correct. besides, if you are concerned about inbreeding, then you would need to source a different bloodline to breed with down the road. i've done this with freshwater shrimp for years.

    Yeah...we thought about that too
Do not want to sell people some badly bred stocks if we should happen to have froglets

Thanks for the info...i thought that the effect was gonna be apparent like in a few rounds of in breeding...like 3-4 generation or so

I've heard it's hundreds of generations... Again, no documentation to support that claim...

Honestly, either way way you stand there will be someone out there who will have different views and will disagree.
I for one, would breed them. Its not the same as mammals. If you had the option to use new blood... i would recommend that but its not always the case and i really dont think its a big deal.
