WTF Terrarium build

So I FINALLY got my new terrarium for my white's! I did the false bottom but nothing super fancy. I made the front of the bottom angled down slightly so it looks a bit better from the front (what a pain in the butt that was!). Instead of using pvc for the supports I decided that I had enough spare eggcrate to create supports with that. It's not pretty but it saved me a few bucks. I put an aquarium air line in the bottom with a connector piece so that I can connect another piece and drain the bottom when needed. How often should that be drained? I then planted two dracaena and a pothos. Eventually I would like to build a platform to put the pothos on so it hangs down, but for now I just planted it in the bottom. I need to get more climbing stuff too. Also, not a fan of the background, but hey, it came with the terrarium so fine with me! I would have taken more pictures but I got totally engrossed in what I was doing!

looks good so far michelle. you might be able to save a bit of headache with building a shelf for the pothos. check out ripariumsupply.com they might have some type of hanging basket you can use. the guy's name is devin. he's good people. if you can't find what you are looking for, just shoot him and email or let me know and i'll shoot him a pm in another forum. oh, and check out his plants. i have bought plants from him before and they are always impeccable.

Wow that's exactly what I was looking for! You just made my day lol. Do you know how sturdy those suction cups are? I only have one pothos but I do have a couple other plants that I would like to hang. Do you know if philodendron is safe as well? And I have a plant called a goldfish plant (Nematanthus wettsteinii). It grows like crazy and would look awesome. Any idea if that would be safe?

Philodendron should be ok. A dwarf variety would be good for your size viv. I'm not sure about the goldfish plant, i'm not familiar with it. You could always use something like creeping charlie. Pilea nummularifolia. I know a guy who uses that in his dart frog vivs.

For what it's worth, I prefer my pothos to be planted on the ground and allowed to climb up. This is what it's made to do in nature, and in my experience the leaves get much larger this way and the stems sturdier. I think they're happier growing up than down.
