Bacterial Pimples?

My WTF has these bumps on his front legs, so I sent a picture to my vet. He said they're bacterial pimples, and wants me to bring him in for antibiotics. I have an appointment for a week from today, but the pimples are getting worse and spreading! My question is, should I try Melafix in the meantime, and what is causing these pimples? My WTF is on paper towel, and I change it frequently. I freshen his water bowl with treated water once a day.

I'd say since you've already had contact with the vet call him and ask about the melafix and about what to do for him until your appt.
