What does it mean when my whites tree frogs go off being as loud as they can when noisy things happen? It's every time their mister goes off and when my phone rings or my alarm goes off which is actually quite funny cause they help wake me up every morning. Does this mean the noise is stressing them out tho or are they using the noise as an excuse to sing? I don't know if its one or both of them but is it only males that's me noise as with other species? I want to look for ways to sex them.
Mine do the same thing but it is not from stress, certain noises just trigger their calls, the male or if they are both males will be the one/s croaking. You will know if you have a male because he will get very loud!

Ok thank you. Also. Unless I see them doing it I won't know which is a male. Is there another way other than full grown size and the noise to tell if its male or female? They are big. They've grown twice the size they were when I got them but not full grown yet.
The only other ways I know of are the females will be slightly larger, the males will gain nuptial pads I believe and also a males throat can sometimes be darker from the stretching of croaking. The only problem with some of these are you'd have to wait until they a full grown or close to notice.
