Is it true that adult green tree frogs cant eat mealworms or they get sick?

Since you're located in Australia, I assume your "Green Tree Frog" is the White's Tree Frog here in the US. They can eat mealworms, but not as a staple. A mealworm's shell is full of chitin which isn't good in large amounts and can cause them to get sick.
