Its cooling down a little recently, and this night I noticed the temperature in my tank fell a little below 75. So I guess its time to find a way to heat my tank. My frog is on eco earth in a 10 gallon glass tank without a lid. I dont have heating in my apartment, and right now the tank temp varies from 85 during the day to around 75 during the night, but in winter it can get like 60 degrees inside sometimes.
What are the options to heat my tank? My frog is albino.
You can use a red night-time bulb (no more than 40 watts) and/or a heating pad. You can get both of them from petsmart or a similar store. Make sure to put the heating pad on the side of the tank though, not the bottom. Pacs burrow to stay cool, and if the heat source is on the bottom it can end up cooking them.
Get a lid ASAP!!! Frogs jump and are excellent escape artists when they're determined. Metal screen lid and cover it 3/4 Of the way with plexiglass with air holes drilled in it or with plastic wrap. D has told you what options you have for heating. Be sure to buy a lamp that has a dimmer switch and is for incandescent bulbs. Make sure the bulbs wattage is no higher than 50 watts.
