So I noticed something moving in my tank today and I took a closer look. It seems like there are 4-5 of these swimming around. Anyone know what it is? I am wondering if they are tadpoles or if they are something dangerous. I only noticed them in there today. Help anyone?
sorry for the bad picture...it is that white looking sperm thing (lol I have no idea what else to compare it to)

I agree with Deac they look very similar to mosquito larvae. If they are though you'd think you would see more because mosquitos can lay 100+ eggs.
well I will let them grow and see what they turn out to be....can they be harmful to my FBTs? Will they eat them?
Are they swimming around when you disturb them, or are they floating, like it seems in the photo? The picture is hard to tell. The heads and the floating make me agree with the mosquito larvae, but if those "heads" are just exaggerated in the photo and they sink when the water settles, they could just be scavenger-type worms, which are beneficial.
no they move around and swim. I did some more looking into it and it is definitely mosquito larvae. When I get home from work tonight I am going to scoop them out of the tank and get rid of them....don't want them in there or even in the house
Good choice. Glad to know you got a good identification.
