i have studied yours and another article about redfoot tortoises copying each other. the other was about two tortoises that wouldnt eat. one day one ate grass and the other one studied his sibling forn5 minutes before eating rass too. weird right? im starting to think thats some sort of survival tactic.

Thanks for the note - the copying observations are fascinating. readers on other sites have written about similar incidents with their aquatic turtles, mainly eastern painteds I believe - refusing a new food until another sampled it. Would be great to see more work done on this. Enjoy, Best, Frank
