Brown frogs at petco

Why in the world are all the frogs brown at petco all the time!!! I saw one I like, but hes brown, I know what they change color when there stressed but he could be so stressed and just die. I got mine while he was green at petco and hes doing great, but should I look for a green one, Please don't tell me it's just because there stressed I already know that, I am asking if there safe to buy.

depends on the frogs. i got my white's from petco and they were brown. still are sometimes. i noticed it depends on where they spend time in their enclosure. if they are close to the coco background they are brown, but when near the plants, they switch to green. hope that helps.

Most turn brown when they sleep to gotta keep on mind they are nocturnal and the store is open during the day of they look healthy go for it

I got all my Whites tree frogs at Petco as long as they are healthy looking and being housed correctly go for it. My latest two, Skitter was green in the store and Olive was dark brown. Now a month later they are still the same colors, however Olive is starting to turn green a little more each day. The only time I've seen Skitter turn brown is when she's very stressed over something. My older frog Shrek, turns brown when she wakes up but lately has been a pretty green while she sleeps.
