In regards to my Bufo viridis toadlet, he is about 1cm. So far, fruit flies and small crickets get kicked away or make him run off, he wont eat them at all anymore as they seem to terrify him. Iv had success with calci worms but yesterday he decided he didnt want those either... im at a bit of a loss as to what to do for the best without stressing him out. Obviously force feeding is going to be too much for him at this size? But seeing as he is spending most of his time in his water I was thinking of trying him on live bloodworm? Would this work? Im going to try to get hold of some rehydration fluid to see if that gives him a boost. When he does eat he produces feces so im pretty confident he is working properly and theres no impaction...
Anyway, thanks for looking
I would try earthworm, cut up into smaller pieces. Maybe like 4 pieces
my Eastern American Toad wouldnt eat full size nightcrawlers unless i cut them up, then he pigged out, they squirm alot more when cut up so i guess it looks a bit more appetizing. But now he has eaten 2 full sizers this week. Goodluck
Have you tried the live bloodworms yet? I am curious to see if that works
I did try them, also put some daphnia in too which he had a try at eating...but the water meant that his tongue couldnt stick to them properly. So maybe if they were tried on a dry surface they might work, but they didnt for me. I wouldnt rule them out in the future though, especially for frogs and such, just not so much toads
