Hi Shawn and welcome. I would not do a community tank, because keeping more then one species of frog in a tank will severely stress the frogs in the tank or kill them. A better option is to keep a single species tank.

thank you i have a 75 gallon tank i would love to have some frogs what kind of frogs do you think would be good for a beginner frog keeper i have all kinds of snakes and geckos but never done frogs
I would say Green Tree Frogs (Hyla cineria), Grey Tree Frogs (Hyla versicolor), Fire Bellied Toads(Bombina maxima) or Whites Tree Frog (Litoria caerulea). But please don't mix these frogs together. If you could tell the dimensions that would help.

Its okay to mix different types of frogs to a extent.
For example I mix White's tree frog with the Dumpy tree frog since they are pretty much the same just different colors.
Another example is you can mix red eye tree frog with the clown tree frog or a small green tree frog. as long as niether of them were caught from the wild so they can pass disease to eachother.
Just make sure any frogs you are mixing come from the same family and not bigger than the other.
A poison dart frog should only stay with its own kind.
What types of frogs were u thinking about getting?
Elyse: White's tree frog and Dumpy's tree frog are the same thing. I would not mix Red eyed tree frogs with Clown tree frogs as they are from different orders and regions(Red eyed-Central America Clown-South America) and can pass on pathogens to each other even if they are captive breed. Also Red Eye's are bigger and would compete with the Clown's for food.
