HELP! WTF not pooping!

I have had a rough time with a whites tree frog that I adopted a month ago. He is currently on finishing the 2nd week of a 3 week treatment with Baytril and he hasn't had a bowel movement since last thurs. I called his vet yesterday who suggested a warm water soak. I place him in warm water last night about 80 degrees for 30 min. He was bright green yesterday, but since the soak he's been a darker brown green color. I fed him one cricket last night after his soak, which he gobbled up immediately. He's a juvenile so I feed him daily, 2 to 3 crickets. Then every other day I feed him 5 or 6 crickets. Does anyone know of any other tricked to help him poop? PLEASE! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! He has a paper towel substrate and minimal decorations since he has been ill, so I would definitely be able to see it if he poops!

if you mix a small amount of honey in with his warm soak it helps with impaction. he should only be in it for about 20 minutes. good luck

I only put a tiny spoon tip in and it seems to always work. I never put in a set amount. Don't leave him in for longer than 20 minutes though and make sure he can stand comfortably without the water going too high up. White's aren't the best swimmers so you don't want to risk him drowning.

im just curious what you think would of caused impaction if hes using paper towels..

I tried the honey soak without any success, just an angry brown frog. He really doesn't seem to like soaking. Stays brown for hours afterwards. I'm not positive that he's impacted, but he hasn't had a BM in 9 days. He usually goes every 4 days, I read that sometimes the Baytril antibiotic can bind them up. He had crickets again tonight without any problem.

he doesn't sound impacted then. His body might just be using up every ounce of cricket there is because he's been ill. If he's eating ok, then I wouldn't be too worried.

I just went through a similar problem with my Whites. She always left me something ever other day until she went to the vet for her second treatment for worms(her first treatment I did at home). She pooped(kinda runny) when she got home and then I didn't see anything for a week. She wasn't bloated and she was eating as usual. I was just about to give her a soak when I moved some stuff in her tank and found the biggest poop ever! Now I find one once or twice a week and they are usual pretty big sized. So if your frog isn't bloated and it's eating normally, I would try to give it a little more time. It's probably just the stress and maybe the medicine. I mean if antibiotics can mess with our digestive system, I'm sure the same thing could happen to a frog.

When I first got my whites a couple weeks ago I had the same problem. He didn't poop for a whole week! But when I did the honey soak he pooped the next day. I just did a couple drops of honey. If that doesn't work I've also read a lot on here that unflavored pedialyte and water works too. My frog is almost always olive green or brown. Only occasionally at night will he lighten up a bit. As long as you keep and eye on him and monitor him like you've been doing you should be alright. It's good that you're so concerned with your frog. I think they have a better chance to get through these things with a mindful owner

THANK YOU! I came home tonight and Frogger was still sleeping 2 hours after his normal wake up time! I woke him up and put on his Baytril. He went and soaked in his water dish. I tried the honey soak yesterday with no relief. Tonight he became bloated and was using his hind legs to rub his belly. I did a warm water soak and I had success! A huge poop! I really want to thank everyone for the advice and kind words! I have never been happier to see poop!
