How do i feed fruit culture

I recently bought a praying mantis and he eats wingless fruit flies. The other day i tried to get only a couple fruit flies out and a TON tried to get out of the bottle instead of only a couple. I was just wondering how you feed fruit fly culture from a tube like this?

Hi Xxandster, Did you tap the top of the lid before letting the flies out? This usually helps then i shake my flies out, its easier to get less flies by tapping the lid a bit more.

Yep, tap the lid first to knock them down . That's the way.
