so last two nights i heard a croak or two but it doesnt sound like the low bellowing croak...it sounds like a regular frog...is it bc its stil small?? i have two pixies so im actually not sure which one is doing it...one is about 4 inchs but looks very female and the other one is only lik 2 inchs??
2' - too small to crock, but when they crock - you'll KNOW!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
dang...still have my fingers crossed then...hope i hear the deep bellowing croak soon then
I realize this post is fairly old...I have the same question. Habeeb, does it sound lower now? Mine is 3" or so, and a few times now it makes quacking croak sounds under the substrate. Not deep at all. Bruce and Heather have told me it most likely is a juvie croak. Anyone else care to chime in? The times we (me and my gf) have witnessed these sounds, were early in the morning and once in the day when we were both quiet on our comps.
I'll try to get some brand new ones tonight.
The pics are not that great (from my cell) thanks again Bruce.
Crappy pics. Need better ones. Looks male.

my frog is about 5" and i heard him croak a couple times now but it is not a low bellow either. it is more of a sharp medium tone croak. it may be just because of his age i guess. my wife has not heard him yet but since the cage is close to our bed room she may not like it. but the frog is just way to cool, if he croaks every once in a while i am okay with that. if he starts calling all night long, like a spring peeper, then we will have to move the cage to another location.
This video has a Pyxi calling. Listen closly.

I wish I could, it's only been three times so far. They are very random. Two times i've been in bed at roughly 5-6 am.
Many frogs when they first start calling are like a teenage boy going through puberty. Kind of like when their voice is changing. When they're learning it will sound odd at first and eventually they catch on and it begins to sound as it is supposed too. It is funny to hear them go through this transision.
