Hi,
I've recently caught some (what I assume to be) leopard frog tadpoles. They came from western Virginia. I have always wanted to make a terrarium, so now's my chance!
Tank: 20 gallon long
Decor (so far): great piece of wood with a "hideout"-type crevice; stones for the water; stacking rocks for waterfall
I want to make a home for them with enough water but that still incorporates the wood and future plants. I've never done this before and am bad at visualizing things, so please give me any suggestions
These two are the tank with the wood, to show perspective on its size (also the tadpoles' current home)
I'm not sure what the little tadpoles are, but I'm guessing they're some kind of tree frog (Spring Peeper) and will release them when they are old enough.
This is one of the tads; I know it's a bad pic but if anyone can confirm species that would be great
A basic layout. The waterfall, then rocks would all be water. The wood has a hole/hideout in the back of the image.
False bottoms are a great way to reduce muck from creating problems with a water feature. I prefer using plastic egg crate (light diffuser) covered with fiberglass window screen. If you are interested, I can throw some photos up of a vivarium I am currently building which incorporates a stream and a pond.

I think I'm going to try to just use a plastic/glass sheet to divide the water and land; does anyone have advice on that? Also, is sillicone removable eventually if I wanted to redo the tank?
