I'd definitely go with the Waxy first as well.. these frogs are amazing, I especially like the Phyllomedusa Bicolor and Sauvagi.. I would get some myself but my house gets a little cold in the winter and it's best to have them in a screen cage because they need lots of ventilation. Post some pics when you get them, noob.

pluke - i have them (3) in regular exo terra 18x18x24, with 3 lamps night (blue heat), day(basking) + UV, even though our house is not too warm either, but dreaming about getting 24x18x36 for them one day ( and possibly getting some more I didn't want to get all screen cage - it would be hard to keep heat. exo terra's are good for ventilation as long as it is big enough and top is not too covered, they sit by the top anyway.

my boys Ph. Sauvagi - both about 2.5'

Oh wow, they're gorgeous.. I love those faces. Hmm.. I have an empty exo terra 18x18x24.. I never see these frogs though, not even at the reptile expos. Pretty disappointing. These are probably my favorite of the tree frogs, I'm just so afraid to get them because my house literally stays around 60 degrees (Fahrenheit) in the winter. I've just heard these frogs are pretty fragile, what do you think? And also have you ever tried breeding them? :X

hahaha, oh those empty tanks

I don't know re heat, you gotta try, our house is pretty cold in winter too, but I have 2 heat lamps with a dimmers ( one for day and one for night) both 75W, so in a summer I'm turning it down ( ish) and when it's cold lamps are full on, no problems so far.

ever since i got a girl breeding is in my mind, but in a distant future if I ever have time to make a rainchamber and if my males won't be too intimidated by the size of her ( she is about 3'5, looks like waxy on steroids
love those frogs, usually when people are looking at them most are asking if they're real, not typical to see a frog basking in a sun with faces like that they look like Jedi ( sp?) from star wars and you are waiting to hear "may the force be with you"

I don't think they're fragile, if you keep them in proper conditions they're pretty sturdy, they're not stressing out much and if they do they're getting over it pretty fast. it's easy to judge if they're happy - if they are they are apple or bright green, if not - dull olive. for husbandry you should think of waxy as of bearded dragon who loves to sit high up on a branches and eats crickets

I have a Sauvagi! He's pretty awesome. I'm still worried about my husbandry with him, though. I'm wondering if perhaps moving him into an Exo Terra would be better for him or not? I have him in an all screen repti-breeze and he seems to just sit in one spot every day, however he's bright green. Does he just prefer "his spot"? Or perhaps I need to think about getting one or two more for him since they are communicable like I've heard.
